Juan Antonio Pérez
Juan started his dance studies in the School of the Arts, Mijas, at the age of 8, with the teacher Rafi Cuevas. At the age of 14, he joined the Maria Naranjo School of Classical Spanish and Flamenco Dancing taking classes at professional dancer level for 3 years.
At the age of 17, he enrolled in the Academy of Flamenco Music and Dance in Malaga, pursuing his studies for a further 4 years under his teacher Susan Lupianez (La Lupi).
He subsequently attended classes in the flamenco studio of La Lupi over a period of about 12 years, where he studied under additional flamenco professionals such as Rafael Amargo, Rafael de Carmen, Juana Maya, Antonio el Pipa, Juan Andres Maya, Rafael Campallo, etc. ...

... In the final phase of his studies, Juan spent 6 months in Madrid, honing his dance, choreography and technical skills with the Paco Mora Company, which was directed and choreographed by the maestro, Güito.
Juan Antonio Perez is a flamenco dancer, teacher, director, and choreographer.
He started teaching in 1992 and formed his own Flamenco Company - Azabache - choreographing and directing numerous professional and student shows.
In April 2005 Juan moved his school to Los Boliches in Fuengirola.
At the Azabache School of Flamenco, students from beginners to advanced level can study in depth Flamenco singing, dancing and guitar (traditional and modern), plus other forms of music and dance (Sevillanas, Rumba, Folkloric, Capoeira, Salsa, Ballet, Piano, Percussion, etc.)

María José Espinosa
María José Espinosa is Juan Antonio's dance partner and the principal female dancer in the Flamenco Azabache Company.
Maria began her studies at a very early age, first of all with regional dances. Later she joined the Spanish and Flamenco Ballet Company of Silvia Ross, where she studied Ballet and Classical Spanish dance before working professionally as a performer.
Maria then continued her studies under La Lupi in Malaga, where she began to forge her career in the flamenco dance world.
She met Juan Antonio Perez, with whom she studied, and continues to study. Maria helps to run Flamenco Azabache.
