So whether you’re looking for a fun new hobby or a money-saving way to get your hands on some designer-quality bags, read on!
The first thing you need to do is gather your supplies. You will need a piece of leather, a sewing needle and thread, scissors, and an adhesive. We recommend using something like E-6000 glue, which is specifically designed for bonding leather. Once you have your supplies, you’re ready to start!
The first step is to cut your leather into the desired shape. If you’re not sure what size or shape you want your bag to be, we suggest starting with a simple rectangle or square. Once you have your pieces cut out, it’s time to start stitching them together. Begin by threading your needle and tying a knot at the end of the thread. Then, simply stitch the pieces of leather together using a running stitch. Be sure to leave a few inches of thread at the end so that you can tie it off when you’re finished.
Now that your bag is assembled, it’s time to add the handles. Cut two strips of leather for the straps, and use the adhesive to attach them to the bag. We recommend placing them about four inches from the top of the bag, but feel free to experiment with different placement options. Once your handles are in place, your bag is complete!
